OUR FOUNDER

Hi, I’m Sara

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Arizona Board-Approved Clinical Supervisor providing counseling services for adults, teenagers, and couples throughout Arizona and Iowa.

My passion to help end the stigma surrounding mental health and help people feel less alone in their struggles is what led me to open Valley Premier Christian Counseling.

I am a proud mother of four and have been married to my husband for nearly 17 years. As the wife of a former active-duty Air Force pilot who served for 14 years, I’ve seen firsthand the impact that deployments and military life can have on service members and their families. This experience fueled my passion for working with veterans, first responders, high-performing professionals, and business owners whose careers place significant demands on them.

I also have a passion for helping couples navigate the aftermath of infidelity and betrayal. While rebuilding trust is not easy, I believe healing is possible.

The teenagers I work with typically struggle with anxiety, low self-esteem, and feelings of not being good enough. I enjoy helping them discover that their worth is not based on their performance, achievements, or the opinions of others, but on who they are as a person and, for those seeking Christian counseling, who God says they are.

Background & Education: I was born and raised in Iowa and graduated from Bishop Heelan High School in 2005. After earning my Bachelor’s degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, I went on to earn my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Christian Counseling

For those seeking Christian counseling, I intentionally integrate faith into the counseling process. This may include prayer, Scripture, and exploring how faith can provide hope and guidance through life’s challenges.

Scripture reminds us that “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). I believe God meets us in our pain and offers comfort, healing, and hope.

I also find encouragement in Romans 5:3-5, which reminds us that while suffering is never easy, God can use our struggles to produce perseverance, character, and hope.
