Sydney Elwer | MASTER LEVEL INTERN
Accepting new clients fall of 2026!
Hi, I’m Sydney.
I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern who works with teens (13+), adults, and couples. I am currently a graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Grand Canyon University and hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. My approach is collaborative and relaxed, using tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and person-centered therapy to meet you where you are.
I believe that seeking support is a courageous first step, and therapy can be a space where you don’t have to have everything figured out before you show up. It’s a place to slow things down, feel heard, and start making sense of what you’re going through at your own pace.
My Christian worldview shapes my perspective on empathy, growth, and purpose, while I remain committed to creating a space where all clients feel respected and supported. I am passionate about helping people better understand themselves, strengthen relationships, and move toward meaningful, positive change.
I am originally from Minnesota, but have lived in Arizona since 2020. While I miss the lakes and greenery of Minnesota, nothing beats warm weather all year round! In my free time I love to read, bake, do puzzles, play board games, go on nature walks, and spend time with my loved ones and dog.
